Wuxi Digital Film Park 5G Virtual Stage

Wuxi National Digital Film Industry Park is a major Chinese production base, a national demonstration base for integrating culture and technology, and a Jiangsu Province pilot zone for film entrepreneurship and innovation. Its 5G smart virtual studio houses China's largest film-grade giant shooting screen, and 7D Vision supplied the studio's XR virtual production system and infrared positioning and tracking system.

The virtual production system in the Wuxi studio is an in-house product from 7D Vision that combines XR, real-time rendering and camera tracking. Real-time rendering makes the digital set visible on the day, ending the disconnect between what is shot and what ends up on screen, so directors and cinematographers can work creatively with cutting-edge production technology. For dramas that need many locations, 7D Vision's virtual production switches between virtual sets quickly. With only a few simple prop changes, the crew can handle scene changes and set-ups that once took long, complex work, and move smoothly between scenes. Extensive editing tools let the team adjust the set, colour, lighting and more on the spot, saving significant time, labour and cost while meeting the varied demands of film and TV production.
